Voting

This is the first election that I have been really confused as to who to vote for. Honestly, I am not thrilled with either of the candidates and have not quite decided, but here are a few thoughts.

I am anti-abortion, especially partial birth.  I worry that with a democratic pres. that the abortion laws will become even more lenient-so there's a vote for McCain.

Then I have strong opinions about health care. I get so frustrated with people who don't work and live on medicaid and just take whatever the government will give them. I know medicaid helps a lot of people who really need it; but there are far too many people who take advantage of it.   I read a really good article on the health care proposals here.  And it seems that with the democratic proposal-even more people will take advantage of free/low cost health care, while those hard working Americans will still be paying high premiums and deductibles.

Obama is definitely more charismatic and likable than McCain.  I still have not made my mind up and am no expert at all on either candidate, but from what I've researched I'm leaning more towards McCain because of my republican values.

Yay! Baby #2! (and yes my #2 baby is on the way too! ) you are lucky you are past the sick phase.

I have to agree that McCain is a weird old man, but you are so right with your points about health care and abortion! I could never even consider Obama since he said "I would never want my daughter punished with a baby" (if she got pregnant too early).

Hope all is well in utah. Hopefully we will see you sometime soon.

i also don't like the abortion thing, but I think that there are so many other issues that would immediatly affect me and my family(education, economy, healthcare) that I have tended to look more seriously at those issues. i think mccain will die anyway, and I can't stand palin.

i must say I agree with you its a tough choice, I have decided to vote mcain Mainly because like you said health insurance when Nate lived in England they have free health care over there and he said it was just so crapy and I think you are right people use the system and you get what you pay for in my eyes and I dont think it is fair that we all should have to go that way if we choose not to its going to be a disaster.... also the small business owner stuff really got to me things that Obama wants to do with taxes... Being small business owners for the last 6 years that would kill alot of us finically. Well I do think they both have some good and bad points. Good luck in deciding its a really tough choice :)

I'm with you! Politicians suck! But I feel I need to vote for the lesser of the two evils... So McCain you win for now...

I'm with you, still undecided but am leaning towards Obama even though generally I agree with the Republican platform. See my recent blogs and expect more in the next two days on politics.

I'm sorry that anyone is having a hard time with the decision. Although i would have rather had an ACTUAL conservative to choose from, there's no question that a liberal Republican is a better choice than a liberal Socialist.
