I took an x-ray of the same finger on my good hand:
And this is my smashed finger. The bone's cracked, but there's really nothing I can do about it. So I'll just go get a splint later and hope it heals normally. FML.

Broken Finger
On Saturday I was cleaning out my storage area and while moving a box a huge piece of wood smashed my finger. I took a picture with my camera but it didn't do it justice. It is red and purple and hard, because it is so swollen and the blood has no where to go. I've been icing it and took it easy yesterday but I had to work today. It's my middle finger on my right hand, which I didn't realize I use so much as a dental hygienist, so I'm kind of worthless today.

So sorry! You need to throw some comfrey on that and it will heal so fast!!!
I KNEW it was broken! You took your own x-ray? I cracked my middle finger bone once when I went to hit my brother while he was curled up in a ball on the floor and he moved, so I hit the floor instead. The end.
That sucks. I'm sorry that happened. how long does it take to heal?
Ouch! Looks painful! I took an x-ray on my toe once too at work. They are the perfect size for fingers and toes. Luckily mine wasn't broken... that looks pretty nasty! Sorry :( Hope you get feeling better.
